Monona Grove's Toren Young takes over as top RB at Iowa

Former Monona Grove star running back Toren Young is set to become the new top running back for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Young, who played at Monona Grove under Brandon Beckwith and WFCA Hall of Fame coach (and current The Big 1070 football analyst) Mike Stassi, spoke to reporters after a spring practice about ascending to the role.

His position coach, Iowa Running Backs Coach Derrick Foster, had more to say about the backfield as well.

Young will be part of an all-Wisconsin backfield. Quarterback Nate Stanley, who started last season, is a Menomonie, Wis. native.
