Poynette to host 33rd Annual Poynette Fastpitch Jamboree

Dozens of area teams will take part in the 33rd Annual Poynette Fastpitch Jamboree on Friday and Saturday. Games will be played at Poynette, Portage, DeForest, and possibly Arlington.

The largest event of its type in Wisconsin, some of the area teams that will play in the event are listed below (as of May 2 at 12pm). The field includes Division 3's two top-ranked teams in Marshall and host Poynette, and five total local teams ranked in the top ten in statewide WSFCA/WSN polling.

Badger Conference: D1 #HM DeForest, Monona Grove, Portage, Sauk Prairie, Beaver Dam, Edgewood.

Capitol Conference: D3 #1 Marshall, D3 #2 Poynette, D3 #10 Columbus.

Other southern Wisconsin teams: D2 #9 McFarland, D4 #3 Juda/Albany, Mineral Point, Prairie du Chien, River Valley, Pecatonica, Burlington, Richland Center, Union Grove, Elkhorn.

Poynette coach and event organizer/scheduler Bob Tomlinson discussed the scheduling challenges of an event of this magnitude, especially with the weather we've had this spring, and a little bit of the history of the Jamboree, now in its 33rd year.
