Make it a dozen: Madison Mallards win 12th game in a row

After Thursday night's 5-1 win over Green Bay, Madison remained in first place in the South Division, having won 12 games in a row.

**There are no games this coming Monday in the Northwoods League**

Madison 5, Green Bay 1

The Madison Mallards picked up their 12th straight win on Thursday night at the Duck Pond, this time a 5-1 victory over the Green Bay Bullfrogs that was secured by strong pitching performances and timely hitting in the late innings.  Madison starter Sean Leland (Illinois) hurled a gem, allowing only one run on four hits. Leland pounded the strike zone and pitched to weak contact all evening as the righty needed only 74 pitches to last 7.0 innings and earn the win. Meanwhile, the Mallards spotted him two runs on RBI knocks by Jake Randa (NW Florida State) and Drew Ober (UNC Charlotte) in the fifth inning.

Fond du Lac 2, Lakeshore 1

Both offensives struggled to score runs, but a misplayed ball in the eighth inning was part of the difference as the Dock Spiders beat the Chinooks 2-1. A fly ball down the left field line that looked playable for Sebastian Holte-Mancera instead found the turf and allowed Andrew Bullock to advance to second for a leadoff double. Two batters later, Chris Ayers singled off of Chinooks reliever Nick Campe and drove home pinch runner Dayton Provost to give the Dock Spiders the lead and eventually the win.

St. Cloud 3, Eau Claire 1

The Eau Claire Express (4-13) couldn’t get the offense going in a 3-1 loss against the St. Cloud Rox (8-8)..

Rockford 9, Kenosha 1

The Kenosha Kingfish (6-10) fell to the Rockford Rivets (11-5) in the first game of the series by a score of 9-1.
