Paul Menard wins pole for The Overton's 400 at Chicagoland

For the first time in nearly a decade, Wisconsin's Paul Menard will start from the pole position in the NASCAR Monster Energy Series, earning the spot for The Overton's 400 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Menard, who finished 8th in the Xfinity Series race on Saturday, has gone over 350 races without earning a pole position start. It's his second-ever pole win.

The Eau Claire native has one career NASCAR Monster Energy Series victory, the 2011 Brickyard 400. Menard won the pole at Daytona in 2008, for the second race of the season, not the Daytona 500.
