Sun Prairie took several leads in the game, but Madison Memorial was able to battle back, going ahead for good late in the fourth quarter on a Jason Ceniti touchdown run, his fourth score of the game (two passing, two rushing). The Spartans tied it on a third-and-long play, a 73-yard touchdown pass from Ceniti to Max Hoeser.

The Cardinals got a big night out of Cooper Nelson, including a 33-yard touchdown as time expired in the first half. Sun Prairie's defense also was in the backfield on several plays, including the first score of the game, a safety.
