Haakon Anderson had 94 yards receiving, 92 yards rushing, and three total touchdowns in Verona's 47-14 win over Madison La Follette as the Wildcats clinched a playoff spot and spoiled the Lancers' Homecoming.
Adam Bekx topped 100 yards passing in the winning effort, as the average starting field position for the Wildcats was the La Follette 47.
Verona scored twice in the first quarter and three times in the fourth quarter to bookend their playoff-clinching victory on Friday night. Jackson Acker had two rushing scores, Adam Bekx had one, and Keegan Lindell also got in on the action as Verona rushed for six touchdowns on the night.
La Follette scored in the second quarter after falling behind 20-0 on a seven-yard touchdown pass to Kayvion James-Ragland. They also got a flea-flicker touchdown in the third quarter, as Ray Broughton found Charlie Kunkel on a deflected pass for a 30-yard score, but that's all the Lancers could manage.
