Thanksgiving Day NFL Preview

Thanksgiving is upon us, and with that comes a trio of NFL games to take in during the holiday.

In Wisconsin, fans should be particularly interested in the outcome of the Detroit-Chicago meeting, as it could result in opening the door ever so slightly for the Packers to get back into the NFC North title race. Chicago currently leads the division at 7-3, with Detroit at 4-6. If Chicago loses and falls to 7-4, the winner of Sunday's Packers-Vikings game will find themselves much closer to contention in the NFC North.

The Vikings would be only a half-game back with a game against the Bears left in the regular season with a win over the Packers. Meanwhile, Green Bay could draw within a game and a half, with one meeting yet left with Chicago as well. While the Packers would not control their own destiny, it would open the door to a potential playoff spot with a win.

Washington and Dallas is also intriguing because it will knock one team back in the standings a notch, key in the NFC Wild Card race. The nightcap, Atlanta at New Orleans, also features a team (the Falcons) in the mix for a Wild Card spot, and also represents the Packers' first opponent after playing the Vikings on Sunday Night.
