Boys Hoops: Waunakee falls to Eau Claire Memorial at Ab Nicholas Classic

Despite having an eight-point halftime advantage, the Waunakee Warriors fell on the home floor of their hosted Ab Nicholas Holiday Hoops Classic to Eau Claire Memorial, 52-50. The Warriors had three shots in the paint in the last six seconds of the game, but all missed, allowing the Old Abes to win.

Caden Boser paced the Old Abes with 26 points, 17 of them coming in the first half. Josh Cash led Waunakee with 16 points.

Eau Claire will play Marshfield for the tournament championship on Friday at 5 p.m. at Waunakee High School. Those same two teams will meet on February 16 as well. The host Warriors get Oconomowoc in the consolation game at 3:15 p.m. Waunakee's girls basketball team plays for the event's title on that side of the event against Verona at 8:30 p.m.
