Trevon Chislom's season-high 38 points and Daniel Toennies' 27 powered McFarland to a come-from-behind victory over Monona Grove on Friday night, 74-66.
Chislom electrified the crowd with a series of emphatic dunks, strong play around the basket, and huge defensive plays to keep McFarland from falling too far back after falling behind 31-14 at one point in the first half. Toennies got going midway through the first half to carry McFarland all the way back to 33-all early in the second half.
Monona Grove's hot start was the product of seeral deep-range baskets, making six threes in the first half. However, in the second half, the Silver Eagles struggled to find offense at times, and watched their big lead evaporate and McFarland take over the final few minutes of the game.
Monona Grove's leading scorer was Caden Nelson with 23. Henry Huston added 19.
