Golf courses allowed to reopen under new Safer At Home order

Golfers, rejoice! Wisconsin's new Safer At Home order will allow golf courses in the state to reopen with some restrictions, including no golf carts, driving ranges, or mini golf. Clubhouses and country clubs must remain closed.

From Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers' new order issued April 16:

Golf courses may open, with restrictions including scheduling and paying for tee times online or by phone only. Clubhouses and pro shops must remain closed.

Clarification on specific non-essential businesses was given:

All non-essential businesses and operations must close. K-12 schools and public libraries are closed, with some exceptions including virtual learning, on-line services, and curb-side pick-up. Additionally, all amusement parks, carnivals, water parks, licensed public or private swimming pools, splash pads, aquariums, zoos, museums, arcades, fairs, children’s play centers, playgrounds, funplexes, theme parks, bowling alleys, movie and other theaters, concert and music halls, country clubs, social clubs, and gyms and fitness centers. The order applies to the above places and those like them whether they are indoors or outdoors.

The new Safer At Home order runs through 8 a.m. on May 26. You can read it by clicking here.
