Today on “Straight Outta Vegas with RJ Bell,” RJ Bell and AJ Hoffman react to the Brooklyn Nets NBA title odds taking a major hit after the news of Kevin Durant requesting a trade. At the beginning of the day, the Nets were sitting among the top favorites, but since the news about KD broke, Brooklyn’s value is in a free fall.

AJ Hoffman: “At the start of the day, the Nets were sitting comfortably at 25-1 to win the NBA title next season. Following the breaking news, their odds dropped to 50-1, making them the 15th favorite between the Jazz and the Timberwolves.”
RJ Bell: “Let’s define how we use the odds in these cases. It’s proven that when there’s insider information, there’s an economic motivation to get a bet down on it. Whatever negativity there was about Brooklyn, it’s increased. Every step of the way since this news broke, they’re odds have taken a hit. So, this tells us that KD is almost definitely gone, and the haul Brooklyn gets back, won’t be that crazy.”
