After sweeping the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Milwaukee Brewers were shut out in the first game of their series with the New York Mets, 5-0, on Thursday night.
Milwaukee managed just five hits against Mets pitching. Brandon Nimmo of New York had four hits to lead the Mets.
By contrast, Brewers pitchers surrendered 13 hits in the loss, including six by Zach Davies, who was tagged for four of the runs and also walked two batters. Davies was activated from the disabled list prior to Thursday's start.
The same two teams go at it again on Friday night in Milwaukee.
