Brewers 2, Twins 0: Milwaukee gets to 50 wins

Now back at 15 games over .500, the Milwaukee Brewers only needed a two-run home run from Eric Thames to defeat the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday afternoon, winning 2-0.

Brewers pitchers combined for a two-hit shutout while striking out 13 Minnesota batters. Junior Guerra pitched five innings with eight strikeouts. Josh Hader didn't allow a hit over three innings of work, and Corey Knebel struck out three batters in the ninth inning to clinch the win for Milwaukee.

The Brewers only managed four hits, and their scoring came in the bottom of the fifth inning when Nate Orf pinch-walked and Eric Thames launched a home run to make it 2-0 Brewers, the eventual final score. Thames collected two of the Brewers' four hits and also drew a walk.
