Freddy Peralta threw seven scoreless innings, giving up just three hits and striking out seven. Taylor Williams and Jeremy Jeffress combined for two shutout innings.
Christian Yelich hit a home run and the Brewers collected 14 hits (four of them by Yelich) in the victory.
Milwaukee entered the day with a half game lead for the final Wild Card spot, and will stay in playoff position for at least one day. Milwaukee takes on Pittsburgh this weekend at Miller Park for a three-game series.
