Milwaukee's 7-4 win over Pittsburgh on Friday night kept the Brewers a game and a half behind the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central (The Cubs also won on Friday night). The Brewers also picked up a game in the Wild Card standings as St. Louis lost to Los Angeles, putting the Brewers up four games in that race.
Milwaukee flexed their dominant bullpen in the match-up, throwing out five relief pitchers over four and a third innings. The combined relief effort yielded four hits and a walk, but also four strikeouts and only one earned run.
The Brewers have two more games with the Pirates this weekend.
