Christian Yelich off to hot start, buoys Brewers to 5-1 start

Whether he's mashing home runs or otherwise getting it done at the plate, through six games, reigning NL MVP Christian Yelich is pacing the Brewers to a hot start to the 2019 season.

First, he hit home runs in each of the Brewers' four games against the Cardinals to open the season, something that had never been done by a defending MVP. Then, he scored the go-ahead run against the Reds to lift the Brewers to their fourth win in five games. He collected two hits in another win over the Reds on Tuesday.

Yelich already has four homers and eight RBI in just 17 at-bats (.417 average) in six games to start the season.
