The big news of the day: top prospect Keston Hiura has been called up to the major leagues.
To get Keston Hiura called up to the major leagues, the Milwaukee Brewers moved Travis Shaw to the injured list with a wrist injury and designated Cory Spangenberg for assignment, per reports.
The move to place Shaw on the IL clears a spot on the major-league roster for Hiura, but to get him on the 40-man roster, the Brewers also had to make the Spangenberg move so Hiura could get called up.
Hiura has a 1.106 OPS in 147 plate appearances at Triple-A San Antonio.
