Reds batter Brewers 6-1 in Game 1 of doubleheader Thursday


In the first game of Thursday's doubleheader at Miller Park, the Cincinnati Reds beat up the Milwaukee Brewers 6-1 in seven innings.

Omar Narvaez provided the lone run for the Brewers, a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Milwaukee's batters managed just seven hits, leaving nine players on base.

Adrian Houser got pounded for nine hits and four runs in just four innings of work. Alex Claudio and J.P. Feyereisen combined to close out the game, allowing two runs in three innings.

Game 2 of the double-header was scheduled for 30 minutes following the conclusion of Game 1.
