Brewers Slug Their Way Back In Win Column With 5-1 Victory Over Reds

After a four game losing streak, home cooking was just what the Brewers needed as their return to American Family Field ended in a 5-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

The scoring got started early as Rowdy Tellez slugged a two run homer in the first inning, his 22nd of the season. The Brewers followed it up in the 2nd inning as Tyrone Taylor hit a three run homer for his 12th on the year. Quickly, the Brewers had a 5-0 lead.

That was plenty for Eric Lauer, who cruised through seven strong innings, scattering six hits, one run, and three walks while striking out four.

In the third inning, Brewers 6'4" and 255 pound first baseman Rowdy Tellez stole second base. That was his second stolen base of his career and he made it easily and without a throw.

Trevor Gott and Devin Williams combined to close out the final two innings out of the Brewers bullpen and Milwaukee finally snapped the losing streak and got a bit of their mojo back.

The Brewers will look to make it two in a row on Saturday night with Aaron Ashby on the mound facing Nick Lodolo of the Reds.
