Bucks to hire Mike Budenholzer as next head coach

Former Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer is set to become the next Milwaukee Bucks head coach, according to multiple reports.

Milwaukee fired Jason Kidd during the season in 2017-18, and interim coach Joe Prunty guided the Bucks to the first round of the NBA Playoffs, falling in seven games to the Boston Celtics.

On Wednesday, Bucks stars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton had breakfast with Budenholzer, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe.

Later Wednesday evening, multiple reports indicated that the Bucks were hiring Budenholzer as their next head coach. The deal is reportedly for four years, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Bucks, who finished somewhat disappointingly seventh in the Eastern Conference and bowed out in the first round, expected to contend for a top-four seed and a spot in the second round of the NBA Playoffs.
