Thon Maker seeks trade from Milwaukee Bucks

Because of a diminishing role with the Milwaukee Bucks despite the team owning the NBA's best record at 35-12, Thon Maker has reportedly requested a trade, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Maker, who was drafted by the Bucks in 2016, started 46 games over his first two seasons in Milwaukee, as well as eight of his 12 playoff appearances. However, in his third season, he's yet to register a start in 35 games played, and his minutes per game has decreased from 16.7 per contest last year to only 11.7 this season.

The reduced role hasn't affected his overall numbers for the most part. Maker is averaging 4.7 points per game this year after going for 4.8 per game last year, and the rebounding per game stat is also similar to last season, at 2.7 after pulling down 3.0 per game in 2017-18. Maker's field goal percentage and three-point shooting percentage are also up over last season, and all of this despite seeing five minutes of action less per game than last year.

The NBA's trade deadline is February 7.
