A dismal night shooting from the free throw line helped tank the Milwaukee Bucks down the stretch of their 115-104 loss to the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Milwaukee shot just 14 of 26, or 53.8%, from the free throw line, including eight missed free throws (4 of 12) by Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Jimmy Butler led the charge to close out the game for the Heat, finishing with 40 points on 20 shots.
Antetokounmpo had a near-triple double, settling for 18 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists. Khris Middleton scored 28 while Brook Lopez added 24 for the Bucks, who fall to 0-1 in their series with the Heat.
Former Whitnall High School standout Tyler Herro, a rookie for the Heat, scored 11 points, including a big three-pointer in the Heat's clinching run in the fourth quarter.
Former Marquette star Jae Crowder finished with nine points for the Heat, while fellow former Golden Eagle Wes Mathews tossed in seven for the Bucks.
Game 2 is Wednesday in Orlando.
