Boys Hoops: Madison East, Mount Horeb earn #1 seeds for playoffs

Madison East and Mount Horeb earned #1 seeds heading into the WIAA state boys basketball playoffs, which begin on February 26. The state championships will be in Madison at the Kohl Center from March 14 through 16.

Division 1, Sectional 3: Big 8 champion Madison East earned the #1 seed and will face the winner on Friday, March 1 of Tuesday's regional opener between Beloit Memorial and Badger. Madison La Follette is the #3 seed, and opens against Kenosha Bradford on Friday. #4 Sun Prairie starts their playoff journey against Verona on Friday, while #5 Madison Memorial meets up with Madison West on the same night. #6 Middleton will host Janesville Craig, and #7 Waunakee opens the playoffs against Racine Case.

Division 2, Sectional 3: Badger North champion Mount Horeb is the #1 seed, and will face the winner of Tuesday's #8 Monroe-#9 Sauk Prairie matchup on March 1. #2 DeForest gets the Tuesday bye, and will play Friday against Tuesday's winner between Stoughton and Portage. #3 McFarland will play Friday against the winner of Tuesday's Reedsburg-Baraboo showdown. On Friday, #4 Oregon will host #5 Monona Grove.

Division 3, Sectional 1: #3 Mauston will play either West Salem or Arcadia on Friday, while #2 Wisconsin Dells awaits the winner of Altoona and Black River Falls.

Division 3, Sectional 3: #1 Prairie du Chien will play either Lodi or River Valley on Friday. #2 Platteville will take on the winner of Marshall and Dodgeville. #3 Turner will play the Edgewood-Richland Center winner. #4 Edgerton will meet the winner of Evansville and Poynette. On the other half of the sectional, Tuesday regional games include #8 Big Foot playing Milwaukee Lifelong Learning, #5 Lake Mills against Kenosha Reuther, #4 Lakeside Lutheran hosting Clinton, and #11 Whitewater at St. Thomas More.
