WIAA Girls Basketball sectional play begins Thursday night, and Middleton will take on Madison Memorial in a Big 8 rematch, and the teams will face each other at Verona at 7 p.m.
Middleton coach Jeff Kind told The Big 1070 that Madison Memorial plays very sound defense and has capable scorers at every position, and is impressed that the Spartans have had as much success as they've achieved this year despite the loss of one of the top players in the state. For that reason, Kind isn't surprised that Memorial coach Marques Flowers was named the Big 8's Coach of the Year.
