After falling to eventual champion Whitnall last year, Portage softball looks to make it back-to-back trips to state in 2019.
Coach Connie Wampler says the state trip last year should be a boost for the returning players this year, especially the ones that were on varsity as the Warriors go for another trip to Madison.
Portage finished 21-5 last year, playing in a difficult Badger North and a difficult sectional laden with future Division 1 college athletes. With a #2 seed, the Warriors were able to upset #1 McFarland and win over a deep playoff run by #5 Delavan-Darien, who took down the two highest seeds in their sectional.
