Nelson Brownell, an assistant with both the boys and girls soccer programs in recent years for Oregon, takes over as the head coach of the girl's soccer program this season.
Oregon girls soccer has made four consecutive trips to state, including runner-up finishes in 2016 and 2018 as well as a state championship in 2015, under the Panthers' previous head coach, Julie Grutzner. Brownell says his experience working with her as well as the boy's program, which won state this past fall, has prepared him well for his new role as head coach of the girl's program.
Oregon was a runner-up last year in Division 2. The Panthers look for their fifth straight trip to state in 2019.
