Brady Gerothanas threw his second complete game of the season, with seven strikeouts and only two hits allowed, as Monona Grove defeated Monroe in six innings 12-2 on Friday night at Monroe.
The Silver Eagles put up five runs in the first and third innings, knocking out Cheesemakers starter Jared Cline after two and one-third innings pitched.
Monroe's Trevor Meier led the way on offense for the Cheesemakers, with a single and a drawn walk, while his courtesy runner, Zach Ripp, scored a second-inning run. Designated hitter Conner Foley singled and scored as well, but the Cheesemakers could only muster two hits on the night.
Monona Grove got multi-hit games from Graham Arndt, P.J. Spalding, Brady Killerlain, Chad Weber, and Owen Croak in their victory.
