Baseball: Regional champs crowned in Divisions 2-4 Wednesday night

The first wave of regional champions earned their titles on Wednesday night, as Divisions 2 through 4 in baseball move on to sectionals next Tuesday. Here's a look at southern Wisconsin regional champions and Super Tuesday tripleheaders on June 4.

Division 2, Sectional 3

#4 Wisconsin Dells upended South Central Conference rival #2 Adams-Friendship 5-1 to advance, where they will meet ##1 Edgewood, 12-9 winners over #3 Mount Horeb.

In the bottom half of the bracket, #2 McFarland took down Rock Valley Conference rival #1 Turner 1-0 in an upset victory. The Spartans will face #5 Elkhorn, winners over #7 Big Foot 13-3.

The Super Tuesday sectional is at Baraboo. At 10 a.m., Wisconsin Dells will face Edgewood, followed by McFarland vs. Elkhorn at 1 p.m. The two winners play at 4 p.m. with a trip to state on the line.

Division 3, Sectional 3

The top half of the bracket saw #1 Viroqua handle #3 Westby 9-4, while #1 Prairie du Chien edged #3 Fennimore 2-1.

On the flip side, #5 Lakeside Lutheran dominated #2 Parkview 15-3 and will face #1 Markesan, winners over #2 Columbus 4-2.

The Super Tuesday sectional is at Brodhead. At 10 a.m., Prairie du Chien plays Viroqua, followed by Lakeside Lutheran vs. Markesan at 1 p.m. The two winners play at 4 p.m. for a trip to state.

Division 4

De Soto faces Belmont at 1:15 p.m. at Riverdale (Miuscoda) in the Sectional 3 semifinal, with the winner playing in the sectional final at 3:45 p.m. ... Mineral Point and Deerfield will play at 12:30 p.m. at Johnson Creek in a Sectional 4 semifinal, the winner to play at 3:30 p.m. for a trip to state.

The Division 1 (as well as a handful of smaller division games) sectional finals are Thursday night across Wisconsin.
