Middleton football program raising money to fight pediatric cancer

On Friday night, the Middleton Cardinals will Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer, a fundraising effort to help battle pediatric cancer in Wisconsin. Here's how you can get involved, and how those attending Friday's game against Verona can help as well.

Cardinals Gridiron Club President Lisa Pavelski told The Big 1070 that there will be several ways for people to donate to the cause. They can donate online (by clicking here) or in person at Friday's game, where they will pass the bucket in the stands.

It's the latest in community efforts made by Cardinals athletics programs, as the baseball team co-ops with Sun Prairie to help battle cancer each spring, and the hockey programs raise money to raise awareness for the leukemia and lymphoma society.

Two honorary captains will be part of Friday's game. Noah Sanger and Ella White are children in the Middleton-Cross Plains school district who are fighting cancer.

Here's Lisa's interview with The Big 1070 to discuss the origins of the fundraiser and how people can get involved.
