HSFB: Verona runs past Middleton 61-35

Verona piled up 735 yards of offense, 588 of it on the ground, in a dominating 61-35 win over Middleton on Friday night.

Wisconsin recruit Jackson Acker ran 13 times for 244 yards and three touchdowns, while Haakon Anderson went for 170 yards on seven carries and two scores, while Graham Stier gained 174 yards on seven carries and two second-half scores.

The game was just 27-20 Verona at halftime, but an interception by Cam McCorkle on the first play of the third quarter gave the Wildcats a short field. Verona went up 34-20 on one of Anderson's touchdowns and never looked back.

Middleton's Kallion Buckner carried 31 times for 142 yards and two scores, while also catching four passes for 92 yards and a touchdown in the loss.
