Coach Mike Harris of the Madison Memorial Spartans lauded the efforts on defense by his squad in a 28-11 victory over Middleton on Friday night at Mansfield Stadium.
Harris told The Big 1070 after the game that he thought the whole team stepped up in big moments during the game, including two interceptions by Kaden Reetz and a game-sealing sack by Jason Ceniti, who very rarely gets to play defense anymore.
The Spartans unofficially held Middleton's star running back Kallion Buckner under 100 yards rushing in the victory, although Buckner still got 99 yards on the ground and had a big pass reception to set up the Cardinals' attempted rally late in the fourth quarter.
