After an 0-9 year in 2018, the Evansville Blue Devils are a win away from a playoff spot after starting 2019 4-0 heading into Friday's key Rock Valley showdown with East Troy.
WFCA Hall of Fame coach Ron Grovesteen says last year isn't what the current team is playing for, but that they are looking ahead to whoever is next on the schedule.
Evansville is a standalone program this year, after co-oping with Albany for several years. Grovesteen says that Albany brought plenty of great athletes to the program and their contributions will be missed.
The Blue Devils have already taken down a couple of the league's top contenders, Edgerton and Jefferson, as they look to get back to the playoffs (or even back to a conference championship) behind a solid passing game in 2019.
