Sauk Prairie marched down the field and scored on their opening drive, but DeForest was able to reel off 31 unanswered points as the Norskies defeated the Eagles 52-13 on Friday night on Sauk Prairie's Homecoming.
Sauk Prairie's opening 16-play, 80-yard drive ate up 8:30 off the clock, giving them a 7-0 lead. DeForest got on the board when the Eagles snapped a ball through their own end zone, making it 7-2. Deforest led 10-7 with just over two minutes before halftime, and scored on a 26-yard touchdown pass from Trey Schroeder to Lane Larson to pull ahead 17-7 with just 28 seconds left before halftime.
For Sauk Prairie, it was similar to what happened against Reedsburg last week, when the Beavers scored with two seconds until the break to go up by two scores.
DeForest roared out of halftime with back-to-back touchdown drives capped off by long runs and cruised to a 52-13 win on Friday night to improve to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the Badger North. After starting 3-0, Sauk Prairie has now lost back-to-back weeks to Reedsburg and DeForest, although the Eagles did manage to score 13 points on a Norskies defense that had only given up seven points in four prior games all year.
