Madison Memorial never lead in their win against Verona until time expired, when Kabaris Vasser scored from four yards out to give the Spartans a 27-24 Homecoming win. Coach Mike Harris praised his team's ability to rally for a big win on Friday night.
Harris told The Big 1070 after the win that the team bought in this offseason, and that in the second half, the team never feels out of it. The Spartans allowed no points and forced three three-and-outs of Verona's high-powered offense in the second half, allowing Memorial to score three times to complete a comeback from down 24-7 in the fourth quarter.
