Verona football coach Dave Richardson says that Wildcats junior running back and Wisconsin recruit Jackson Acker will miss the next two games with an ankle sprain, and will rest up to be ready for the playoffs.
Richardson made the comments on The Big 1070 Friday night following Verona's 54-13 win over Madison La Follette. The Wildcats clinched a playoff spot with the win.
"We just want to get him right for the playoffs," said Richardson. Acker had seven carries in the game for 164 yards and two touchdowns, but left during the game for treatment on his injured ankle.
On the year, Acker has run for nearly 900 yards and 11 touchdowns.
