Madison West, 4-5 in the regular season and a #8 seed in the Division 1 WIAA football playoffs, will play on their shared home field with rival and top-seeded Madison Memorial Friday night.
Coach Brad Murphy told The Big 1070 that he doesn't mind seeing a Big 8 team to start the playoffs, citing his many years of coaching experience in that the playoffs typically work this way to start, seeing in-conference teams.
Coach Murphy added that it couldn't have worked out any better for the Regents, getting another game on their home field, even as the lower seed against their rivals and stadium-mates, Madison Memorial.
Mansfield Stadium was the site of Week 5's clash between the schools, in which Memorial pulled away from a 7-6 lead to a 28-6 victory.
