Stoughton jumped out to a 22-0 lead halfway through the first half, and won by that margin, 60-38, on Saturday night over Monroe to take over first place in the Badger South Conference.
Monroe didn't register a point until 8:23 was left in the first half, and didn't get their first basket until 31 seconds later.
Stoughton's strong start was fueled by Cael McGee and Adam Hobson, who combined for 35 points in the game. McGee's 23 was the game-high, which included a tip dunk and a pair of made three-pointers.
Monroe played without leading scorer Cade Meyer, who will return to action next week. J.T. Seagreaves played off the bench and tied for the team-high in scoring with 10 points for the Cheesemakers along with Max Golembiewski.
For the Vikings, they avenged a triple-overtime loss in December against Monroe and took a one-game lead over the Cheesemakers in the conference race. Stoughton also has a three-game lead on the third-place teams in the conference.
