Only 80 teams remain in all of Wisconsin as the boys basketball playoffs move on to sectional semifinals Thursday night. Here's a rundown of area teams that will be playing this week.
In Division 1, top-seeded La Follette will take on Badger North champion Waunakee in a rematch of a regular-season non-conference game won by the Lancers. La Follette took down Janesville Craig 76-64 while Waunakee upended Sun Prairie 77-70. On the other side of the bracket, it'll be #2 East, 62-44 winners over Kettle Moraine, squaring off with #6 Oconomowoc, who upset #3 Memorial 62-58.
Division 2 saw top-seeded Stoughton move through with a 53-45 win over Reedsburg, while #3 DeForest took down #2 Monroe 75-61 behind hot shooting in the first half and big plays in the second half from their leading scorers. Stoughton and DeForest meet at McFarland Thursday night.
Wisconsin Dells, Turner, Edgerton, and Columbus advanced in Division 3... Cuba City and Darlington moved through in Division 4... and Wauzeka/Steuben, Potosi, and Monticello all advanced in Division 5.
