The Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association announced its All-State teams for the 2019-2020 season. Here are the area student-athletes that made the team.
Division 5 has a handful of southwestern Wisconsin players on the All-State team, led by repeat selection Carter Lomas of Wauzeka-Steuben, a senior. Monticello junior Peter Gustafson also made All-State, while his teammate, Reece Rufer, a senior, was named honorable mention. Gavin Ralph, a Wauzeka-Steuben junior, was also named honorable mention.
In a loaded Division 4 field of southern Wisconsin standouts, Cuba City senior Brady Olson and junior Brayden Dailey lead the way, along with junior Carter Lancaster of Darlington. On the honorable mention ranks, there are several from southwestern and south-central Wisconsin: River Ridge senior Cole Crubel, Fennimore senior Kellen Kenney and junior Adam Larson, and Cuba City senior Jackson Noll.
In Division 3, all of the honorees are from outside of Dane County. Mauson senior Cade Hall and East Troy senior A.J. Vukovich made All-State, while Lake Mills junior Charlie Bender, Wisconsin Dells senior Brett Hirst, Edgerton junior Clayton Jenny, and Prairie du Chien senior Mason Kramer all were named honorable mention.
Eastern Wisconsin dominated the Division 2 All-State team, but a few Badger Conference players were named honorable mention. Beaver Dam junior Nate Abel, Milton sophomore Jack Campion, Reedsburg senior Will Fuhrmann, Stoughton senior Adam Hobson, and Monroe junior Cade Meyer were all honored. Future Wisconsin Badger Johnny Davis of La Crosse Central was named All-State, while his brother Jordan received honorable mention.
One Big 8 standout was named All-State in Division 1. Isaiah Stewart, a senior from La Follette, earned the nod for All-State. Sun Prairie senior Colin Schaefer was named honorable mention, the only two area players to make the All-State list. Future Wisconsin Badger Carter Gilmore of Arrowhead was also named All-State.
