This year's selections to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-State Team have been announced for girls basketball.
In Division 5, a trio of repeat selections from Black Hawk highlight area picks, led by four-time All-State selection Natalie Leuzinger. Bailey Butler and Hannah Butler join her as repeat selections. River Ridge senior Skylar White was also a repeat choice for the WBCA honor. Fall River senior Sam Leisemann earned her first all-state honors after making honorable mention a year ago. Iowa-Grant senior Olivia Liddicoat earned honorable mention.
The lone area selection to the All-State team in Division 4 was Nicole Johnson, a senior from Mineral Point.
A pair of repeat selections to the All-State team highlight the area field in Division 3. Platteville senior Sami Martin and Marshall junior Anna Lutz each earned All-State honors for the second time. Sarah Lazar of Edgewood, a junior, made All-State for the first time, as did Prairie du Chien sophomore Lily Krahn. Area student-athletes earning honorable mention include Dodgeville junior Olivia Argall, Edgewood junior Baluck Deang, Marshall junior Laura Nickel, Platteville senior Josie Nies, and Luther Prep sophomore Grace Schmidt.
Division 2 saw a pair of Beaver Dam products make the All-State team. Junior Maty Wilke and senior Jada Donaldson were named-All-State this season. Another Beaver Dam player, junior Natalie Jens, made honorable mention. Other area student-athletes to earn honorable mention include Oregon senior Liz Uhl, DeForest senior Maggie Trautsch, and Reedsburg sophomore Mahra Wieman.
A pair of Big 8 rivals lead the way in area All-State honors for Division 1. Both Leilani Kapinus of Madison Memorial and Sitori Tanin of Middleton were selections to the All-State team. Memorial senior Emmoni Rankins was named honorable mention.
