Lucas At Large: MBB: #12 Oregon 72, #5 Wisconsin 54

Here's what Mike Lucas had to say about Wisconsin's season-ending loss in the NCAA Tournament to Oregon, 72-54.

"The unsatisfactory outcome was dictated by many things not least of which was lack of defensive efficiency throughout 2ndH and the inability to score, esp from the perimeter. The latter impacts the former decreasing any margin for error on both ends. Lapses are magnified in March"

"More of a reshaping than a rebuilding? Part of rebuild was getting back 2 Dance/B10's Top 4. But they need 2 reshape/redefine who they are. More maturity will help. Have been a tm that doesn't beat itself; a tm that pays attention to details. Fell short. Along with shotmaking"

"Can't say enough about Ethan Happ whose steady development exceeded even most optimistic expectations. Footwork & unconventional rim attacks were unforgettable. Also can't say enough about Khalil Iverson who saved his best for last; the last few weeks of his career were memorable"
