Lucas At Large: Ohio State 38, Wisconsin 7

Here's what Wisconsin Badgers radio analyst and UWBadgers.com senior writer Mike Lucas had to say about Wisconsin's 38-7 loss to Ohio State on Saturday.

One play on UW’s 1st series shined a spotlight on OSU’s speed. On 3rd-and-3, Jonathan Taylor was held to 2-yd gain by LBer Malik Harrison. Against many defenses JT is breaking off a long run. But the Buckeyes close so quickly in space they can neutralize someone as fast as Taylor
Offensively the Buckeyes do a terrific job of capitalizing on the talent disparity by creating matchups for Olave in the secondary and by getting Dobbins in the alleys. The Badgers got 5 sacks but couldn’t rattle Fields whose running ability adds another dimension to their attack
November will be the measure of the B10 West contenders. Can be viewed as elimination tournament starting with Hawks and Badgers, a game that takes on greater weight and consequences on the heels of back-to-back losses. Potential scenario? Playing Gophers for Axe and trip to Indy
