Jerry Kramer's Hall of Fame speech was one to remember, with much gratitude offered and, of course, some storytelling for old time's sake.
Kramer's speech was a thank you letter to everyone who helped him along in his career, from high school football in Idaho through the Lombardi years and to the people who helped get him elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He also told several stories that, while popular to those in Wisconsin who have followed his career and campaigned for his induction, enthralled the crowd and football fans.
On a night when so much was focused on great players of the past two decades, Kramer's induction was a callback to nostalgia, to Lombardi-era football, and a reminder of where the game grew from.
